Anybody stayed there recently? I know they renovated it recently. Trying to see if it is nice enough to stay.

Compared to what? The LaQuinta on Acadian?

It's a good location for a BR vacation. Centrally located and easy to get to Blue Bayou, downtown, and Mike the tiger's empty exhibit.

I get going to BR for a game or to visit family, but who goes on a vacation to Baton Rouge.

I know the GM of the Marriott, and have stayed there before the renovations. It was nice enough to stay in then, so I'm sure it's even better now. I've seen a few pictures, and it looks nice.

It's your mom's preferred spot to be mounted and tamed.

From the looks of things they are still working on the upgrade.
They are spending some big money on the old building do I'd bet it's going to be very nice.

It looks like thu removed the balconies and made the rooms bigger. That has to be expensive. I've always wondered how in the heck BR had so many hotels when there isn't much to do there except for a few special weekends. Now I live in West Monroe and we have 12 or so hotels in this small arse area. I have no fricking clue why.
