Not as much as just having the capability to have music play in different areas. Sure you still get a guy every now and then who has a comfortable chair in front of a nice set off towers and high end amp, but it's usually in a man cave or a bachelor pad. In most installs the boss (wife) doesn't want to see that shite.

I have a 2.1 system but your high quality arse wouldn't approve. The only reason I have it is because I been living in rental places and haven't set up surround sound again...it's a pioneer elite with B&W bookshelf speakers and my Velodyne 12" sub
