Black Joe Lewis is awesome

Mother in law took the kids home.

Wife is grabbing drinks.

And Black Joe Lewis rocks. The kids loved Johnny Sansone. I really enjoyed Brother Dege, and my wife loved Naomi Shelton.

All in all, the crowds were very manageable most of today. And the event has been fantastic, and free.

I went once quite a few years ago and I swore that I'd never go back. If you want to see white trash and people still being hippies, then this is the place to go. You'll see women in halter tops that never shave their bodies. The white trash apparently don't wear deodorant. Those people really gave off an odor. I couldn't grasp how people could eat the food that they bought with the trash and stench that was surrounding them. If it's free, the trash will show up.

I really wish I could have made it out there for Dr. John. I've seen him at Tipitina's several times, and he is amazing live.

Dr. John really exceeded my expectations. I thought the band was great and his voice actually sounded better live than what I've heard from studio recordings, more crisp and lively.

Great event all around that keeps improving.

You sound like a douche. Not everyone has to be exactly like you.

I would bet anybody that went this year would say that this particular description couldn't be further from reality. Whatever experience this guy had in the distant past, it's got no relation to the festival as it is today.

We saw some of Black Pistol Fire earlier in the day, and they were really good. I liked walking around the Old State Capitol grounds; I was expecting the main stage to be the town square area. Actually had the most fun when we walked down Third Street and watched a local group on the Roux House patio. It was nice day, as expected.

They live in Austin, however they told me they're originally from Canada.

But overall, the festival was fantastic, and not trashy like some previous poster said. There were some undesirables, but no bother really.

Oh, and Dr. John was amazing. He was on top of it.
