I mean, would you find it acceptable if the IRS decided to just say "frick it" and stop collecting taxes?

Yep. I'd love that

, seriously something needs to happen to this area and NOLA; two shitholes that need National Guard presence around the clock.

Well the government tried once already when they busted the levee's after Katrina. They came back just like roaches do.

With regards to Wayne Campbell's comments: " risk some potential legal issues"? They have been arrested for murder, have been charged with murder, and will be tried for murder. That goes a bit beyond some PR & potential legal issues. And now there are multiple reports out of Baltimore that the same group behind organizing all the protests is now aggressively pushing for more black males to register to vote in order to inflate the jury pool with the "right kind of jurors".

Maybe cops should just do their jobs. And if that occasionally requires them to legally defend their methods, so be it.

The Baltimore PD personnel are represented by a Labor Union. The Union's intent is to protect the members.

At this point, the Union should be advising the police to look after themselves, because the city, state and federal levels of govt do not have their backs.

The best way for the LE personnel in Baltimore to protect themselves right now is to minimize proactive policing. Respond to calls in a deliberate manner. Take statements from crime witnesses.

If there are no witnesses to a crime that are willing to be interviewed and provide evidence CASE CLOSED and all LE personnel return to the police station.

Example: Citizen in the 'hood phone calls report of a shooting. About an hour later, the LE personnel should show up, ready to take statements.

The Union's job is to protect its members, not to make Al Sharpton happy.

I'm not saying that necessarily happened in this instance, but there are plenty of examples where cops were clearly in the wrong and skated by.

Good. The Baltimore Six aren't "skating by". Now their police union and brother officers will respond.

You're speaking more to this particular instance where I was speaking more generally. I honestly was shocked that anyone was charged with murder in this instance. The evidence available at the time was not sufficient for that charge, in my opinion.

If that's how it works out, then whatever. But I can see no reason to argue against people with the legal right to vote being registered. I could make a snarky comment about them just doing their civic duty, but I won't. I'll just work it into a seemingly normal comment so that the comment is still made.
