Baker man booked with hate crime

I read about this yesterday. Somewhat baffled.
I does not say it is expected that he was robbing them because they were black. It read as though he was robbing them, they came out and happened to be black and he yelled at them.
On the other hand, a white guy goes into north BR and is told he is in the wrong side town and subsequently gets beat down. No hate crime.

Pretty sure the white guy who was beaten at the Chevron was called some racial slurs...was told he didn't belong in the neighborhood. No hate crime.

Even though Baker is majority black, I would not lump it in with North Baton Rouge. I always considered Baker like New Orleans East. Families that are at least trying.

Yep, this is a world of double standards. Have to re-design life to patronize the low-lifes. Best part is, they don't even realize they are being patronized.

Baker is still like 20% white. There is not a single white person living in the real NBR.

I don't think he's trying to compare Baker to north BR, it what I'm saying. He's just talking about a reversed race case in that area that wasn't considered a hate crime

Well the guy already had his two strikes, so instead of trying to prove a hate crime, they went for the easier conviction to ensure that he would be put away for a very long time. Hate crimes can be hard to prove (both ways).
So justice was served, or do you have a problem with that?

The problem is that we draw a distinction between "hate crimes" and normal ones.
