A lot of street parking here in Austin requires you to back in and gives you a ticket if you do not.

In same situation so ESP in cities it makes sense.

But you see it in wide open areas and strip malls around here.

Stop show boating ur goofy truck and get moving.

When I witness people backing into a spot, this is how it typically goes down, with absolutely no indication to the car who happens to be driving behind.

The car behind the parking is under a duty to yield. The only way this scenario results in an accident is if the car following the parking car fails to yield.

Shouldn't you be giving some middle-aged white woman a pedicure?

If you have ever been out of town for business, pulled forward and your battery has died and its almost impossible for someone to jump you off when other cars are around you will always back in or pull all the way thru the next time.

One time I had to audit a fabrication company in Morgan City and when I pulled in all of the spots said "Reserve Parking Only", or so I thought. I parked all the way at the end of the lot where there were no signs. When I went inside I commented on how much reserved parking they had. The secretary said those signs say "Reverse Parking Only".

In my defense, I had not had coffee yet.

I always back in. Some nice person at work left this note on my car a few weeks ago letting me know how good I am at backing up. Probably an asian.

If you are parking farther away to pull through, then how the hell do you have problems navigating the parking lot? Just drive to the rear, or enter the parking lot away from the building.

I wish I remembered which car that came from. Would love to know who it was.

Beat me to it. There's a reason that it's mandatory there.

It's just become habit for me after being in the Army.

I dare anyone try and convince some crusty retired motor pool NCO or warrant to not back in to a parking spot
