We are Peak 8, right by Grand Timber Lodge. 50 ft from snowflake lift, 100 yds from beaverrun ruperchair.

We aren't getting a car. They have really good free shuttles around town, and even to other summit county resorts (copper, keystone, beaver valley)

Shuttle in from Denver for like 120/pp roundtrip

really good info man. Thanks

I would also like to point out that we are dealing with a group with 2 experienced skiers, but almost everyone else will have little or no experience (I've only been once 7 years ago).

They like to drink their asses off. That's about it.

I think it really comes down to the kind of trip you want to have. I learned in college that ski trips with people that want to get trashed every night kind of suck since you paid all that money to go skiing and wake up hung over as balls every morning trying to get out and ski. I really only go on ski trips now with people that really want to ski hard each day. Maybe hit a bar or two coming off of the mountain, but still in bed by 11 or so so that we aren't wasting the ski day.

They will want to drink their butts off. And most of them are not expierenced skiers so they aren't going to want to "go hard". Not big into clubs or drugs or chasing tail (pretty much everyone is married), but they are going to want to drink. Gambling is a plus but not necessary.

Based on this I would choose Breck. Very beginner oriented mountain. The 2 with experience can find slopes to their liking too.

I'd honestly go somewhere more geared toward drinking

Breck is really high and some people in the group will have altitude sickness...plus, hungover at 10k is really shitty.

Yeah. I had no problems whatsoever with Tahoe, but its not anywhere near the same altitude. I think tahoe is like 6k.

I was part of a few lawn sales because of this.

Tell me more. How was the nightlife? Where did you stay? Rent a house? Lodge? Stay in the town near Main Street or nearer the lifts? etc

We rented a ski in ski out right on the 4 o'clock run. You could walk to the strip if needed although we took a car most of the time.

Being that the group was from NOLA casinos were not on the top of our list. The nightlife in the area was enough to keep us going throughout the evening.

Sounds good. Casinos aren't a necessity just another thing to do. We are only going for 3 nights, Thursday to Sunday, so I'm thinking Breckenridge right now.

Great point. We didn't have any real issues with it, but I've been there on other trips where non drinkers were having issues.

3 nights? Go Breck. It'll be dirt cheap. But I couldn't justify a ski trip for only 3 nights.

Don't really have the time for more. Skiing for two days is enough for me
