dude, you need to relax. I was trying to help you out and give you some advice so you don't get screwed. Now, I hope you get into an accident and find out what your coverage should have been.

you want to help, but all you tell me is that I need more coverage. Tell me what it should be since you have knowledge in this area

OP..Just FYI Geico has a 90 day underwrite window... Meaning they can offer you that price and hook you in ... Then they will take a look at it in that 90 day window and will most certainly increase your premium. Just so you know

Minimum 50k in bodily injury and 50k in property damage.

Think about if you hit a nice car or run into a house/business. You can easily do $25k worth of damage in a heartbeat.

Think about if you kill someone or permantently disable them. Those are some serious bills coming your way, even if it was an accident.

Seriously look at raising your coverages and getting a personal liability umbrella. They aren't that expensive and you will be much more happy to have it and never use it than need it and not have it.

No problem..
Most internet auto insurers are like that and people don't realize till they are 3 month in then bill goes up and feel stuck.. and you better believe they'll pro-rate they balance from previous 3 month to include what I should have been at beginning

teddy, what does your coverage look like, if you don't mind me asking?

got a fairly new Highlander and a older Silverado on it.
i have 50/100/50
$500 deductible on the Highlander
no uninsured motorist
rental is included for both and i pay right at $200/month. Used to be about $140/month 7 years ago.

That's a good thought in all, but most P.U.I. companies require that you're Auto Liab be at least 100/300 or 250/250.. Big jump in premium for a 24 yr old

Interesting. They did not do that for me at all. It stayed the same and went up $8 at the 6 month mark. However, I am not 24 so that may be a different scenario.

I've had Geico for a year and a half now and hasn't gone up yet.

Geico = bait and switch.....They will not let you pay annually because they will jack up your rate after 6 months without cause. Then you will pay anally. Find another company.....AMICA

Horror story with GEICO/GREAT story with USAA:

I had gotten into my second (my fault) wreck in a year's time when I was very young and inexperienced. So GEICO decided they didn't want to insure me anymore and issued a Insurance refusal for my truck.Problem? Not really: Mom called USAA (as at time USAA only took military officers and family)...and swapped us to USAA and saved like $500/year on 3 vehicles, house, and travel trailer. So, in reality...I'm OK with GEICO...I just don't want their insurance. Getting my dividend checks from USAA rocks in December!

Then I assume you never made a claim to them for an accident? That is when you really find out how good of an insurance policy you have.

Actually, I did have one major claim. My ex's car was flooded because she's a dumbass, driving in water she shouldn't be. Completely totaled. They cut a check for a fair value with no issues and the rates didn't increase.

Another time they fought another insurance company on my behalf when a guy backed into me, but there was a dispute at who was at fault. Ended up ruling it was his fault.

No complaints.
