Yes, very active. Big watch parties at Shoal Creek Saloon and Lavaca St. Bar downtown. Others in various areas around austin.

Looks pretty promising.

You have to get to Lavaca St. pretty early to get a seat, although standing isn't too bad. I've never been to Shoal Creek for a game, but I hear it is impossible to get a seat (it is more of a restaurant set up)

A bit. It didn't help that I bought a round of drinks for the kitchen. I'm told they give you more food that way, and it appeared they did.

Enchanted Rock is ok. It's North of Fredericksburg.

FYI, your chick would probably like Fredericksburg.

Outdoorsy, like I said, go paddleboard, hike the greenbelt. Go to the Congress street bridge tonight and watch the bats.

Enchanted Rock is 45 min away maybe.....The Greenbelt off 360 is south austin has water flowing right now so the Twin Falls is nice. Barton Springs Pool is nice to swim in....68 deg water and mucho talent walking around.....although many of them are underage.

Go eat at East Side King....phenomenal food for cheap.

San Marcos? I have family in Wimberly and that is some pretty country. Have had great times floating and fishing on the Blanco River. Wouldn't mind spending time in that area.

McKinney Falls State Park is in the city limits- down Wm. Cannon and over to a FM road I don't remember the name of. Hiking, swimming and I did a bit of fishing out there. Caught a ton of small catfish, but it was good just to get out of the city and away from work for a bit.

Go climbing at Enchanted Rock

Go MTBing at the local public parks. (I like Walnut Creek)

Go trail running at those parks too.

Are you into fast cars? There are some fun roads to drive in the area.

whoa...that place is drastically overrated - do not go waste your money at Salt & Thyme....average sandwich, terrible service. Gourmands is literally right around the corner, now there is one of the best sandwich places in town

It's easier to give suggestions if you tell us some interests. I've been here over a year, and there are literally thousands of things to do.
