Not sure if this has been posted but Atlanta completed the repair of I-85 in roughly 4 weeks.
Over-under 4 years for this to be completed in Louisiana?

Ha. No way they did all that shite in 57 seconds. This has to be a joke

How much did that cost with all the overtime?

When it happened most of the OT said it would take 6 months or longer.
In Louisiana they would do another study to figure out the best way to do it.

Was there a bidding process for that job, or were repairs already under contract?
If repairs were already under contract, did that company have to put their other projects on hold?
If the company had to put other contracts on hold, did the state have to pay for all of that?
So many questions. Good job on getting it done.

You gotta be happy it didn't collapse 3/4 of the way into the project.

Someone had a fire lit under their arse for sure. What an embarrassing situation for the city and a massive headache over the past month.

2 lanes of the I-10 Twin Span Bridge (connecting New Orleans and Slidell over Lake Pontchartrain) was reopened 45 days after Hurricane Katrina
and that was just a little bit more than two panels getting burnt down by a crackhead

It's a lot easier to repair a road without having to negotiate other traffic on the same bridge.

Ain't that the truth. It would take LA 8-12 months to fix that.

I don't see anything online that it has officially reopened yet? Just because the concrete is poured, doesn't mean its open yet? Looks like late may is still the expected reopening?
ETA: Finally seeing it, looks like it will be ready by Monday morning.

Monday, before rush hour.
I think I will wait a bit and let the cement finish drying before I go over it.
