My sister when she was in high school back in 2008 asked me why there were 50 stars on the flag and only 49 states. I asked if she was counting Hawaii and Alaska and I kid you not she responded with, "Ha! Alaska isn't a state".

A kid I know has a dad who runs a business selling lawn tractors. I asked him where a certain brand was sold and I said, "I think they're made in another country. Do you know where?" He said, "Yes, they're made in Wisconsin." I replied, "Wisconsin isn't a country, it's a state." He came back with, "I meant a country in Wisconin." I said, You mean like France, Wisconsin, or India, Wisconsin?" He nodded his head. Wow, just wow.

Hired a kid in his early 20s to work in the shop last year.
We were working inside and looked over and saw him filling the coffee maker with instant coffee. We told him "Hey dipshit, that's instant coffee, don't put that in there."
He looked at the jar, looked at us, then picked up his phone and started typing - presumably googling 'instant coffee' or texting his mom 'how 2 make instant coffee? '
Two observations...
Why pick up your phone to look for an answer when the directions are right there on the jar next to you?
The internet is your easiest way out, even when it isn't.
Why would human endeavor produce and label a product called 'instant coffee' that would require the exact same effort as regular coffee?
No situational awareness whatsoever. None. Zero.

I had a conversation with one about the Bill or Rights and the constitution recently and I think we're probably totally fricked at this point. They haven't been taught much of anything about it and what they think they know is completely wrong.

Honestly, I didn't know that much about Gandhi until I saw the movie with Ben Kingsley, which piqued my interest.
