Looked like a hobo riding his bike. I saw him on 44 a lot. He also walked from the small Walmart on 44 sometimes. Long hair bushy arse beard. You had to have seen him.

I heard they are operating on his hand tomorrow to fix broken bone(s). They are still watching the head injury. Droop lives in the house his father owns. I'm not sure if the old man is still alive or not. His sister lives there too. He has a brother that splits his time between that house, his gf's house and APSO jail (what is institutional theft?) There is another couple there right now. Probably a niece and her family. I've never heard that he lost any family in a car accident.

Droop sleeps on a mattress in the lowest room in the house. It got wet during the flood. I heard he was still sleeping on it. He used to pick up cans and sell them but I haven't seen him do that in recent years. I've seen him on bikes, pushing a shopping cart and just walking. Lately he has been walking but I heard someone bought some tires for his bike.

I don't think Droop misses a St. Amant home game. I've never talked to him. I suppose I should just to say I have. He is a fixture in the community. I wouldn't give a plugged nickel to any of the rest of his family but I'll donate to help him. I'll buy him a new bike if he goes back to his former job, Making some of us remember what is important when we see him causing minor traffic congestion or sitting on the side of the road just chillin.

Here's to Droop, get well soon.

Good post baw. Droops one of the last remnants of this part of Ascension before it became South South East Baton Rouge. Of a gofundme shows up for him I'm pitching in. I got memories of that ole baw back in the original location of leaders chicken.

Quick update.

-Although Droop has numerous injuries and apparently too many stitches in his face to count, he is refusing pain meds because he does not like the way it makes him feel

-According to his sister, this has been the first time he's been to a doctor since he was a young man. He will make 64 on October 1st

-Against medical advice, Droop has refused to let them shave his beard.

-He is in stable condition and good spirits.

So Droop's drag-wormery was caused by the 2016 flooding.

Urban Dictionary: drag worm

What the hell is Droop?

He is a very kind-hearted mentally handicapped individual who lives in Ascension Parish and rides his bike to work and picks up garbage and recyclables along the way. Just a really nice human being who would never hurt a fly. Prayers for Droop.
