Dude Scotlandville's band blew them out like 8 days ago.
Scotlandville's band was awful.

Not sure you were listening to the same group.

Objectively they were really bad.

They played loud, that's for sure. Loud as hell.

I get the proud parent thing and they are fine for a small school band but not even top 200.

Our high school (West Monroe) has a great band from a technical standpoint but it's a lot more fun when there's a band from St Aug or similar across the way. Great contrast. One is more geared to win competitions and others to get the crowd moving in their seats.

The best high school marching bands in Louisiana are Lafayette, St Amant, Fontainebleau, West Monroe with Erath, Dutchtown, East Ascension, Catholic, Central Lafourche as honorable mentions. These were always the schools that did best when I was in high school

Fountainbleu is ridiculously huge, they'd better sound good being that large.

Bm doesn't have the flash as the other schools, but the sound is just as good if not better.

We are, unapologetically, a military band, not a show band. It's not popular with many folks, but our kids sound good and march with a style that only 10% of bands will even try.

Good to see you posting, hadn't seen you around here in a good while.

Are you trying to imply that because the LSU Tiger Marching Band, the GBFTL, uses Peak Stepping (what you're referring to as high stepping), that they are a show band? Or aspire to be one? Because that style that we use in our pregame is military marching. LSU marching band used to be a cadet band. It's very much a "boring" marching band, as you keep pointing out. But their musicians are just that...musicians. They aren't just blowing into a horn to make the loudest, must unmusical noxious sounds as they possibly can. And I prefer and appreciate that far more than I do show bands.

Impressive! That's a big band. I'm guessing 120+. Good sound too.

Best are typically Lafayette High, Central Lafourche and Fountainble

Might want to include St. Paul's and St Aug in that group, son.
