I've only been in that shite hole once and that was at 7:00 on a Saturday morning to grab a bloody before road trip to LSU.
Creepy as fck. Had two people of the four there sleeping at the bar.

I'm pretty suprised that the robber made it out alive

They supposedly serve food there too, which might make it okay. Just depends on what percentage of their sales comes from food.

Which begs the question, how much money could the robber possibly get from this place?

I have always wondered why, if you are going to decide to pull an armed robbery, you don't do a bank. It's the same damn crime legally, you might as well go some place with loads of cash.

The F'ing Bunch of Idiots investigate Bank Robberies. I'd rather have the Erath Volunteer Police Department on my trail for knocking over a fireworks stand there than the Feds.

And statutorily I don't know that it is or isn't the same crime.

Armed Robbery is armed robbery regardless of the type of business (or individual for that matter). You could argue that robbing a bank opens you up to federal charges as well (FDIC insurance gives the FEEB's jurisdiction) but they don't usually charge it federally. Regardless, my point stands, pick some place with the likelihood of cash on hand. I can think of plenty of places better than that bar.

I think if the bank is Federally chartered the FBI has jurisdiction, but maybe it's the FDIC affiliation.

Bank robbery is usually about the dumbest crime there is. You'd be better off robbing ten Quickie Marts than one bank.

Incorrect. I believe this statement is correct when referring to a restaurant that serves alcohol, but not allowed in bars which only serve alcohol.

This is correct.

Spoke with the Lamplighter's manager who said a patron left the bar during the robbery, got a gun and shot at robber as he fled.

Banks have security guards, tons of cameras, and silent alarms. A shite hole bar late at night likely has none of these.
