There were about a dozen people, including customers and employees, in the bar at the time of the robbery. One witness described the suspect as a "black dude with a mask." The witness said the gunman rushed in, went behind the bar and demanded money from the register. He then took cash from video poker machines.

The sister of the bar owner said she was told by witnesses that as the suspect was leaving the bar, an armed customer followed the suspect out and fired three shots

He'd better hope the cops get to him before three finger Tony's boys do.

Paul's a Jiggers man. Unless the robber proceeded further up Vets after leaving the Lamplighter, he should be fine.

An armed customer followed him out of the bar and fired 3 shots? Isn't having a gun in a bar illegal?

Not sure, but robbing a bar at gunpoint definitely is.

Of course I realize robbing the bar is an illegal act.

I'm just wondering in this fricked up world will the customer get in trouble. I don't think they should, but, I have always heard an otherwise legal carry is illegal in a bar.

I dont believe so if you are not drinking, but yes, it is illegal to carry if you are drinking

Incorrect. I believe this statement is correct when referring to a restaurant that serves alcohol, but not allowed in bars which only serve alcohol.

You cannot carry a concealed weapon into a Class A retail alcoholic beverage outlet (ie a bar).

I'm also not sure it would be acceptable to fire at the robber once he was outside of the bar as he was running away from the scene of the crime.

That bar was straight out of Fear and Loathing or From Dusk Til Dawn. I expected either a man-sized cockroach to walk out of the bathroom holding a beer and smoking a cigarette or the bartender to turn into a blood sucking vampire the whole time I was there.

They supposedly serve food there too, which might make it okay. Just depends on what percentage of their sales comes from food.

I've never eaten there, because I've only been after all of the other bars close. Their pool table is the absolute worst bar pool table I have ever played on, and maybe that's because they keep it outside next to the freezers and washing machines. Interesting folks though
