Patiently waiting for all the people who said they'd praise Obama for coming just as they praised trump for coming.

Is it that hard to understand? He should have been down there a week ago. And he wasn't at some UN summit or anything that he couldn't step away from. He was on vacation. He could have easily hopped on the 747 that we all pay for and come down to act as if he gives one flying frick about the southeast. He is only coming because he took a pretty hard PR hit, and rightfully so. Now he is "damned if he does/damned if he doesn't", but he put himself in that position.

Well a week ago BR was still flooding.

Trump visited on Friday, Obama is visiting on Tuesday. If he came on Saturday would that have really made a difference to anyone dogging him?

Coming on Thursday before trump would have most likely fricked up relief efforts.

I don't like Obama either, but it's not like Obama visiting 2 days ago would mean literally anything in terms of relief for the area. If anything he should stay away as to not divert resources but we all know that's not going to go over well.

I agree with all of this.

Funny thing is, Obama spoke the truth and people hate him for it. Trump used his supporters for a photo op. Obama coming here sooner would not have done anything positive, and I don't like the guy either.

Obama doesn't need to come, and is only doing so as a response.

The issue is the attention he could have brought had he acknowledged it. Instead he released a statement on his summer playlist and played golf.

Of course he's eager to involve himself in local crime issues at any point

Some people are stupid. Not saying you need to stop your day and bow down to the guy. But no need for this thread. Go on about your life but you don't need to anounce to the world every single time you get a chance how you can't stand Obama. At least have some respect for the office of the most powerful executive in the world.

I know people have said this through the years, but it really is ignorant as frick. The piece of shite in that office is systematically trying to destroy this country with his leftist bullshite.

How exactly would that have fricked up relief efforts? By that time, we were out of rescue mode and in recovery mode. Who would have been distracted by him showing up and making an appearance to get Louisiana some exposure? The guys gutting houses who don't give 2 shits about him? The generous folks cooking and handing out supplies? He fricked up by not coming earlier and is just trying to save face now. I didn't care if he came then and don't care now but he wouldn't have disrupted any relief efforts Thursday any more than he will today.

To be fair, Trump didn't send out a memo telling us not to be a bunch of racists.

The Bluffs is in St. Francisville so Obama coming should not affect BR traffic.

I've ignored him the entire time he's been in office. It is a damn shame half the voting public did not do so both times he was elected.
