Are Toyota Tundras not intended to be used as trucks?

I have nothing against Toyotas. I had one that served me well, but..

I saw two Tundras recently while traveling, that caught my eye. They were both pulling travel trailers down I-10 and the frames were twisting and bending like crazy. One of them looked like the bed was going to completely twist upside down.

CSB, sorry no pics.

No. If you want a truck, get a ford. If you want a bitch mobile get anything else.

I would never buy a Tundra but unless they were 28'+ I think you're exaggerating. I've seen Tundras pull some damn big boats just fine.

No they are, you can tell by the ugly interiors.

Oh look! It's a redneck pecker measuring contest about who has the better truck.

This video basically sums up my feelings of the Tundra's abilities. Even though this is basically a Ford video, the results have been duplicated very many times.

When I had my Tundra pulling boats, RV's, etc caused me no problems. The only complaint I had was it rode so bad and the MPG's. Just like a real truck.

I don't have a truck, so they all beat me. I do have a utility trailer though to hook up to my SUV if I ever need to haul Anything. I definitely would not attempt to pull a big travel trailer with it.

99% of trucks aren't pushed to even 70% of their limits.

Toyota bodies are made of crap. They dent easier than any other vehicles out there. Don't really know about their towing capabilities.

Oh, well that makes it an acceptable design for a truck then

The OP talks about Tundras twisting, and I think the video is pretty relevant to his question.

As a side note, a lot of ppl hate on the new Ram 1500s but it rides smooth as butter. The rear suspension are springs and not leaf packs. The 1500s can still tow around 10k gross. Not too shabby....

An unrealistic test. Maybe they are trying to sell trucks to women that fly over the speed bumps in retail parking lots.

I have a Silverado right now, but if I were looking to buy a truck, I would buy a Tundra and not even think about the other options.
