Where does OT royalty draw the line?

Both used to be trashy, but now they're fine.
At one point, Honda was trashy.

Do you have to put smaller Asian nuts on the vehicle?

If you have to ask if something is trashy, rest assure that you are trashy

Hyundai has come a long way in the last 5-10 years. They not only make solid vehicles now, but they offer a lot of bang for your buck.

Kia sure has trashy commercials about low down payments and credit issues. Still trashy.
When was Honda trashy, the 1970s? I don't think so.

I have a 2017 Sorento and it's great. Consumer Reports rated it the #2 SUV 1 point behind the Toyota Highlander. Plus it's got a better warranty. 5/60 & 10/100k miles powertrain

I drive a Soul as my daily commuter and my wife has a new Sedona. The Hyundai and Kia warranties are great. My Soul is almost 5 years old with a daily 80+ mile commute. I finally changed the factory battery last month, not because it was dead, but because I figured time had to be running short. I still haven't had to change the original factory brakes.

I have a Hyundai and I love it. Can't beat that warranty.

Are they making your car payment for you?
No?
Then who gives a shite what they think?

Resale value was in the tank a while back. Not sure if this holds true today.

Both brands were garbage 8 years ago. They have come a long way in quality, but they still aren't on par with Honda or Toyota.

Kia, Dodge, and Mitsubishi have historically relied on sub prime financing and lending to unqualified buyers to move cars.
A Kia isn't really different from a Hyundai mechanically, but the marketing and financing strategy makes the buyers a bit different. Different buyers with very different philosophies on maintenance and upkeep. That impacts resale value even if you take care of your car.
So....Hyundai>Kia for that reason despite being mechanically very similar. For the same reason, Chevrolet>Mitsubishi. Ford>Suzuki. Jeep>Dodge. Toyota>Scion.

Hyundai getting close to Yota airspace but not quite there yet.
Give another few years and they will be.
You can't convince me to buy a Kia.
