Found a sweet Invicta which retailed for 869.99 on sale for 130.00. I wore it to a party and a beta laughed at me. It's ok, I fricked his girlfriend.

I would think any military style canvas band would work. Green, black...

LINK

Obviously not the roller style with the curved edge...but you get the drift, and the links. You can search every strap they have in your lug width, or the Breitling replacements...

You guys are a bad influence on me.

I used to have this Tag.

Got it for a 15th anniversary gift from my old employer in 1999. I wore it every day to work and any time I cared about making an impression. Wore one of my cheap sport watches (Expeditions) hunting, fishing, etc. There's a disgusting story I'd rather not get into, about what happened to the Tag.

Had been just wearing a couple of cheap Timex Expeditions since I retired in 2011. Had a "dressy" Seiko somewhere, but never looked for it. I think wearing the Tag for a decade kind of spoiled me.

Three or four months ago I was really feeling sorry for myself for no longer having the Tag. I was also sick of wearing the Expeditions when dressed for church or whatever.

Went online & bought this Invicta for $40 ($30 something + tax).

Had to take a link out of the band. Watched a youtube video explaining how to do it yourself. Did it and realized the second hand fell off in the process. Laughed & laid it down. The next time I picked it up the time was wrong. I then saw the second hand had caught and gotten in a bind with the minute hand. I set it for the right time, but it doesn't work right. For some reason (maybe the fact I never got to wear it) I stuck it in a drawer until now.

Decided to buy something that might not be very impressive, but would at least run & look good when I dress for church or a funeral.
Paid $60 for this Pulsar.

After reading this thread and looking at some of the watches online I decided I need more than just this Pulsar & the Expeditions.

I found the old Seiko.

Plus I ordered a new "Everyday" watch.

After I get the old Seiko running and the new Seiko delivered, I think I'll be OK for a while.

Broke,

Here's a better picture of the old Seiko World Timer I've had since the late eighties and haven't worn since 1999.

What's the likelihood of me being able to get this thing running?

1958 Cal. 500. For a "workman's watch" they really didn't cut corners, keeps time beautifully.

I think my first "adult" watch might be an omega. I work in areas where you can't always have a cell phone, and I'd like to be able to look dressier for customers/senior management

I have an Omega AquaTerra on my short list. Though I also have a very similar styled Seiko SpringDrive right next to it.

You can literally wear that watch on anything and it will look good. Buy a bunch of zulu and nato straps. And then a distressed leather and you're set.

Cool. I may grab a few Natos. The description on countycomm said it would come with a black leather. It showed up with black Zulu and a brown leather. I'm happy with that. I'm liking the watch. My first pilot/field style.

I really like that a lot.

How do you like the rubber band? I have been exclusively wearing my Seiko Orange Monster for 10 years and love the steel bracelet, not sure I can go rubber.

I got fired up & ordered it while reading the watch threads on here last night. Didn't get the order in until nearly 8 pm so it should come Monday.

I was torn between it and this one with the metal bracelet:

SRP307 Classic Automatic Dive Watch

Also considered this one.

SNZH09 Seiko 5 Automatic White Dial

Wanted something to knock around in that is nicer than an Expedition.

I'll try to remember to come back & post about whether it's comfortable after I get it.

Because of the bad weather, I just got it today.

I like how light it is with the rubber band.
