If that is the case...now THAT is trashy.

You don't throw your own wedding/baby/whatever shower.

What if it's a family that just relocated to another state and were only living there for 6 months until they found the right area they wanted to purchase a home in?

A lot of people that live in apts live there temporarily because they're in transition or are not planning on staying in that town or whatever. I did for a while after a separation. Nothing wrong with it, snobs.

ETA: Hosting parties in one is kind of borderline trashy though. I'll give you that.

That's why I was asking...lol.. If anything about that story is "trashy" it would be that. If someone throws a shower for someone, they are privileged to have people to do it for them, but if you throw it for yourself it just seems like one of your main agendas is to get free shite.

I am not proud to say this, but I had a cousin who threw herself a baby shower. I don't really communicate with this particular part of the family, but I sure did receive an invite to a couples baby shower (I didn't go). She got knocked up, it was her second child and she decided, after the baby was born to throw herself a shower..

I get it, we are in the south. But wouldn't most people in big arse cities live in an apartment?

I just think of Seinfeld I guess. But maybe that was trashy for NY standards? I don't know.

It becomes a little trashier the closer to thirty you get but in the interests of full disclosure, in 2007 I rented a tv and surround sound to host a bbq for LSU/Florida at a Super 8 in Dayton, OH.

Yes only trashy people have parties in apartments. That's why there's very few parties in NYC or SF.

Did the apartment have a doorman? Was the food catered? Was there a view? Was there a wait staff or at least a bartender?

Idk if its trashy. But this place will wreck your self-esteem if you have thin skin. Everything seems to be trashy or you're ugly and poor. And to top if off, your SO is getting piped by the BBC

Well that part is legit though. You really don't even want to know what's happening out there.

Depends. My apartment complex has a rooftop deck with views of the NYC skyline.
