Pleats make you look fatter anyway.

In Europe I'd tend to agree, in the U.S. I don't think you could be more wrong. Just looks hipster here. Hipsters don't have a lot of power in the states. Most of the power lies with old white dudes (who tend to be fat & conservative and thus more likely to wear/need pleats) here.
Check out the best-dressed Republican candidate the other night - Rubio.

Or come to mid-town Manhattan and check out 95% of the investment bankers and corporate attorneys. That's why I asked how old he was and where he lived. The guy sounds like a 50 year old insurance salesman in small town Alabama or something.

Yea, I didn't want to condescend there.
I work in management consulting in downtown Chicago; you just don't see people wearing pleats and cuffs ever. I don't think I've ever seen a banker/attorney/consultant/VC type ever wear pleats and cuffs since I've lived here.
I'm not talking about the super skinny, showing ankle, hipster kind suit pants here. It's a slim, custom-made look that's pretty ageless but still shows off the physique.

Or the Kennedys, or Bill Buckley, or Moynihan, or John Bolton, or GHWB, or any of the other multitude of wealthy and influential men who didn't/don't wear pleated pants.

Is seems impossible to find clothes that will fit someone with an "average" build.

Also, if you cant fit in a slim fit suit you are fat A slim fit suit in an American store just means proper fit. This is a Hugo Boss slim fit. All this means is "im not a fat American and I dont want to look like an 80s yuppie"

I have a 33 inch waist. I'm not Mr Olympia, but I do work out quite a bit, and that cut of suit wouldn't come close to fitting me.

No one can say this is hipster or too tight. It is simply a great fit
this is too tight and trendy and will eventually fall out of style

People with pleats needs a watch because their hands are too busy stuffing their face with food to bother checking a phone.

Everything that is fitted or tailored is "hipster" by TD standards.
