Frickin' millennials. The current generation is made up of people who would rather set up a gofundme or kickstarter rather than put in work and earn the money they need for something. We are approaching a time where everyone has their hand out. It's infuriating.

No, I don't want to pay for your dream wedding. If you can't afford it, elope and save your money and MAYBE you'll get your dream wedding some day. My friends would laugh in my face if I set up a "fund me" site for anything and they would be justified in doing so.

I guess it's the new money dance... or a supplement to the money dance.

I've seen one of these. There's a list of activities they want you to fund. Tropical zip line tours, whatever.

Well, I seriously doubt that YOU are their target market.

Other millennials are willing to support these types of activities, so one could argue that it's not really "lazy", but a...creative...way to pay for a wedding. And, if you could find like-minded individuals to support your cause, then I see nothing wrong with that.

I mean, Hell, I actually think the idea is better than just expecting their parents to pay for everything...

I'm only down if it can be the substitute for that shitty china I'd have to buy for their wedding gift.

I broke my ankle 4 months ago. It has healed and was doing decent, able
To walk and then all the sudden I have a week where it burst even when laying down 24/7, sucks. And I work on my feet. Should I start a gofundme to help with my medical issues and not being able to works as much?!!

I feel like yours would actually be one of the few that is justified. I'd donate towards a medical bill before I donate so someone can get married on a mountain in Fiji.

That's the thing. You know the bride is still going to expect shower gifts and wedding gift and all that crap.

Good luck with it!

It's pretty humiliating if you ask me.

I've seen them for honeymoons which I feel is worse. If you can't look each other in the eyes and discuss that you can't afford a 10 day vacation in Maui, maybe you should reevaluate marriage.

It's probably the same people who can't afford to save a year for a vacation because they are paying off the credit card for the engagement ring.

I need to figure out a story that will get me paid on kickstarter. I mean I am pretty fricking smart and the people that donate are pretty fricking stupid so I could make it work!

For the millennials, at least, I don't think they do it because they can't necessarily afford it - I think they do it because they have seen the successes of crowdfunding for years and see it as a way to offset costs.

I mean, would anyone have an issue with a couple that had a friend who let them use a condo in Maui for free, knew someone that was friends with a golf pro so they got a couple of rounds for free, or had a friend donate some miles to them for the flight?

I always wanted to do a tour type thing around with geo catch in nola kinda like the spy museum in DC.
Where you get clues that send you in different parts of the city and allows you to kinda see things off the beaten path with stops at local resturants that you could include in the price. Or something like that.

I know probably half the concierges in the city and could easily advertise with them and get the "tour" promoted.
