I always wanted to do a tour type thing around with geo catch in nola kinda like the spy museum in DC.
Where you get clues that send you in different parts of the city and allows you to kinda see things off the beaten path with stops at local resturants that you could include in the price. Or something like that.
I know probably half the concierges in the city and could easily advertise with them and get the "tour" promoted.

I'm 33 so I'll assume I'm a millennial.
My issue is that it is becoming common place for people to depend on others so they can do things they can't afford. They almost expect the burden to shift to "the crowd". It used to take a village to raise a child, now it takes a wedding party to go to Fiji.
If someone offers to let you use a condo or gifts you some airline miles I would expect them to be a very close friend or most likely family. Even so I would never ask for something like that.

If a woman's parents can't afford the wedding then she probably isn't worth marrying.

This reminds me... I need to setup one of those go fund me things to supplement my retirement

That's the thing. You know the bride is still going to expect shower gifts and wedding gift and all that crap.
Exactly. Double dipping assholes.
I will say I've seen Kickstarter/GoFund be used for some good things. I have a coworker whose wife has been diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. She's 32 with a 5 year old. I have no problem forking over some cash to help them out in anyway possible. So I don't totally hate the concept.

If they are truly dependent upon it, then I agree with you. But, from what I've seen, it's mostly being used to offset costs.
I'll be honest - I would prefer to give a couple cash that they could use for whatever they wanted, as opposed to actually purchasing some fricking dishes or towels that might get used twice a year.

I agree with you that it has some great uses but it is also abused, like anything else.

I'd give you $20.00, BACON.

That'd be a great option ideally. But most women will probably still want wedding gifts too.

Just don't forget to record the reaction when you say "Wait? You didn't get my wedding donation?" when asked what you got them. In all it's glory.
