I've said this a hundred times on here and the PB. There are more rednecks in upstate NY than there are in AL, MS, and GA combined.

I also see some confederate flags on trucks around here - funny b/c I def have heard plenty talk about the south and specifically south Carolina as being full of rednecks and ignorance..

Here's the difference between Southern and Northern rednecks: Southern rednecks are usually self aware that they are rednecks. Pennsylvania has to have some of the biggest rednecks of anywhere in the country, but they are oblivious that they are rednecks. As a friend from there put it, there are three places in Pennsylvania: Philly, Pittsburgh, and Alabama.

I've found people who relish that culture in every state of the union. The Great Lakes region is loaded with them. California has their share as well.
There's a town in Washington called Concrete, and everyone I've met from there seems like they were of this culture.

The trashiest redneckiest people I've ever met were from Ohio/Michigan/Great Lakes area and West Virginia. They are on a different level and are completely oblivious to their plight. I had a roommate from Michigan that would dress in Polo and boat shoes, listen to nothing but rap in a late 90s Grand Prix, and was obsessed with Nascar. Very confusing times
