The power of TD making connections.

When you MFers have connections regarding Operations, let me know.

Bastards.

South Lake Charles or the Moss Bluff Area.

Don't want to cross the bridges to get to work? Try Westlake somewhere near the river.

The landscape is saturated as hell right now.

Entergy was hiring 4 operators last month. 140 applied.

I test for Citgo later this week, but again, the competition is outrageous. I'm not sure if it's always been like this or the Sasol announcement has people scurrying for positions.

I'm really kind of suprised to hear this. With all of the work going on and coming soon, I would have thought there would be alot of job openings in SW La and south Texas.

Well, Sasol is already behind on their work. They supposed to build a $20M training facility near Chennault they haven't even broken ground on.....nothing's happening right now. ....so with people going to school and getting these degrees they were asking people to get, there are so many people ready for jobs now, everything and their mother applies for every position available in the area.

It's difficult right now.

You're going to have to get a job working as a contractor doing shite work for a little while. The work sucks, but the experience will help in the long run.

I take that back. Not "shite" work. There are some hard working people out working construction work and they like what they do.

If you've never worked it before, it's going to be a culture shock for you. But again, the experience will be valuable.

Yeah, my bro tested back in december, ended up making it to the 3rd round before he got cut. It was something like 500 people applied for 15 jobs.

Yeah, if I could get a little info on that test, that'd be great. Instead of walking in blind.

They're hiring 30 this time around. I actually talked to one of the ones that got hired on in that last class. 6-7 straight out of Sowela.

I heard a few years back that there is something like 12,000 process tech degrees held in SWLA and only like 3,000 operator jobs

That last hire sasol just had only hired guys that had 4+ years experience. I believe we just hired 18 operators that start on Monday.

I interviewed but got passed over. Heard that they just hired people with experience. Nonetheless, my test is good for 5 years and I have interviewed, so hopefully, I'm high on that list. I do know for a fact that there were people that passed the test, but didn't get interviewed so I obviously am thought of higher than some others.
