While I like some of the features of the 2016, I think it looks hideous, but that is just a matter of opinion. I have a 2015 and love it, while it is not "sporty" it is a solid comfortable luxury crossover/suv.

Yeah, the wife likes them but I'm not paying $50k for that. I'd rather a 4 Runner Limited for $45k

This WAS a great vehicle until some idiot at Lexus thought it was a good idea to make the grill look like the alien (without helmet) in Predator. Other than than they are great vehicles. Look for a Certified Lexus PreOwned at a Lexus dealer. Or just search on their website. Lexus' website, not an individual dealer. The benefits of buying a certified vehicle are strong.

I like them. I've been debating getting one because I travel a shite-ton and like having a vehicle I enjoy driving. I like the Lincoln MKC, almost bought one, but I grew to dislike the front end and it needs a few more inches of legroom.

By the time you get a mid-level vehicle loaded up, you might as well go luxury. The '17 version of the Cadillac SRX or whatever it is looks like it could be cool.

The MKC I found was certified pre-owned, loaded up, '15, less than 18,000 miles and was under 30K. Again, I wasn't crazy about the exterior, but loved the way it drove. Interior specs were great. i would have bought it if not for the legroom issue.

We're in the market for a similar vehicle.

The Acura RDX and the Volvo XC60 are the leaders in the clubhouse. The Acura is coming in about $36k loaded comfortably. $38k with Volvo. Incentives reset on Monday - we'll make a decision this week hopefully.

I see the RDX come up a lot as a great vehicle. The Audi crossover is supposed to be great as well.....I just don't like it as much. I drove the Mercedes GLA and was severely disappointed. Great legroom, but didn't really feel any different than driving a car. Didn't exactly like the look of it either.

It's tough to get into any decent SUV for 35K, dude--I doubt that's the very base price for a RX350 (haven't looked it up). You'll be lucky to get into anything new under 45K or so--and I'm talking domestics and Toyotas. BMW and Lexus do a good job of advertising their stripped down prices, but the options you'd want add up quickly. Well into the 10s of thousands.

Get a Highlander. It's basically the same SUV. About 5k less for the same equipment.

I just got a ridiculous deal on an xc60.... It was a 2016 with a 46k sticker.... Dealer loaner so it had some miles but they discounted the car down to 35k(including 2k conquest) and I was still able to lease it under the holiday lease special which includes first 3 payments waived. I paid nothing out of pocket, and won't have a payment til the end of March, $394/month including taxes.

If you are interested in the Volvo I would recommend looking into a loaner(2 local Volvo dealerships had multiple units on the lot for sale) and don't buy after the holiday sale is done, the 3 months free applies to a lease or finance.

Fwiw we really like the car, it wasn't just about getting a good deal. we had looked at a crv, edge, terrain, qx50, and srx. The Volvo was easily our favorite (crv second favorite) and was actually a cheaper lease than everything except the terrain.

The 2016 Lexus RX one of if not the ugliest car sold today. Seems like an angry kitchen appliance, or a modern take on the old Pontiac Aztec.

Get pretty much any other competitor. Acura, Volvo, Buick, Lincoln, Infiniti....all good choices.

We own two Volvos now. I am a fan. The Conquest bonus pisses me off though

If I were driving a comperitor now, they'd give me an additional $2k off. But because I drive two Volvos, I'm not eligible for that incentive.

Right now we are weighing Volvo loyalty against the flash of the Acura. Financing is exactly the same. If Volvo would knock off the last 2k wed probably be done. Which dealership did you use?

There is a 2k loyalty bonus as well, but if I understood properly, the loyalty and conquest only apply to leases(getting out of a lease AND going into a new lease) so if you are purchasing it doesn't help. There was also close to a $1k rebate on the upgraded wheel package.

I got my car from culver city Volvo in Los Angeles. Santa Monica Volvo also had dealer loaners listed on their website.

You may consider leasing the Volvo, lots of cars don't lease well and are better off being purchased, but the lease program on the xc60 is very aggressive(minuscule money factor, 3 payments waived, adequate residual). It would have been more expensive to lease a 32k crv than our 46k Volvo.

It's not just the grill. There's a lot wrong with the new RX350.
