I know a guy that paid $50,000 to an American chick in NY to marry him so he could get a green card and apply for a Passport.
When he went back to Tanzania, she disappeared with the $50K never to be heard from again. He never did get the passport. And had to shell out about $10,000 for private investigator and lawyer to get a divorce in NY.
Anyway, that's my semi-relevant almost cool story.

An old boss of mine was on his third or fourth green card marriage. He was a disgusting and despicable human. The situation those girls came from must have been absolutely horrific to put up with him.

My dad had a LDR with a lady from Panama. He ended up marrying her so she could come over. It took years and a lot of money plus a pledge of financial support from him.

Not so much. She was an excellent wife to him for awhile though. Got up to make his breakfast and lunch, cooked dinner every day. Cleaned. Plus she was an electric engineer so she earned more than him too.

WTF would someone do that? If you're going to get married, do it in her country and stay there. Better yet, just rent what you're looking for by the night...or hour. It's much cheaper than marrying a woman in the U.S.
