Staying at Mandalay Bay and since our Tigers play at 11am at Syracuse, that's 9am Vegas time. Doesn't exactly leave me time to ask around...
Little help here!

Just got back and the new SLS at the north end of the strip (old Sahara) has a cool bar / sports book with the biggest screen I have seen outside of a stadium and leather couches. It's a beer garden so there are good tape and good eats too.
Lavas see place is great as well but I have had spotty service there on occasion.

What hotel are you staying at? Does it have a bar? That's what I would do at 9am in Vegas.

Mandalay has one of the better sportsbooks. It will probably be on one of the large screens as it begins early.

I think Paris sportbook opens at 0800? I have placed bets there before catching morning flights....

Concur. Watched the last couple games of the '13 NBA Finals there. Great place

There's a bar by the rio called Tommy Rocker's I believe that had signs all last year touting it as the Place to watch LSU games. I went in during the CWS and nobody else was in there. We just redid our sportsbook at the Westgate with a huge HD video wall but seating is kinda limited while they finish construction, and it's on the opposite end of the strip.
If you want something more personal check out the sports bar on the first floor of the Cosmo. You get your own TV at your table/sofa and you can order pizza from the hidden pizza restaurant upstairs. Best pizza in Vegas.

All of the sportsbooks will be open before the games start...usually 7am.

Yea, the sports book at manadaly bay might be the place we all end up seeing that it's early. A lot of places don't open til 10 or 11am. But keep the suggestions coming please. Would be nice to see other lsu fans to party with

I went to Vegas when LSU played Bama in the BCS championship and the Vegas LSU Alumni all met at Tommy Rockers. Check the Las Vegas alumni website.

I feel the Lagasse Stadium is overrated because it's one of those places you can never really get seating on a big sports day. And it's just a restaurant/bar with a bunch of TVs.
If you're up that way, I like hanging at the bar just outside of Venetian's sportsbook.
With the early kick, just get to the book an hour or two before kick and you should be able to get decent seating. Or, go book to book. Mandalay's is fine, but can be clusterfrick in terms of crowd. But, you don't have a ton of options down on that corner and I don't think MGM or Luxor are much better. I would go mid-strip to Caesar's, Bellagio, and even some unsung places like Paris and Bally's.

NCAA tournament is disgusting as it's just young nasty dudes who drank and held their seats all night and they're pounding bloodies, Bud Light, and Krispy Kremes in the morning just trying to get to gametime.

go to the Pub at the Monte Carlo, it's where the "Sin City Tigers" have their viewing party- they moved here from Tommy Rockers- and it's a much better venue- Geaux!

I'll be in Vegas when we host Bamaa and be looking for a quality spot.

That pub is a great call. I don't think their book is great, but I am otherwise a big fan of Monte Carlo.
