Because it is lafayette and it is imperative that they make sure that traffic is fricked up.

It's just Lafayette, they just figured out civil engineering and road construction. Going be a few bumps before they get up to the rest of the world.

When they did the ambassador extension they realized that the lanes weren't wide enough to cars to make u-turns. They then had to come back make a shoulder every where there was crossing. Modern marvels of acadiana.

Maybe they can send some of their newfound knowledge over to Baton Rouge

I swear Lafayette has the longest traffic lights in the history of mankind.

And add to that people playing cell phones at every light and not paying attention. This stalls traffic more than folks care to think about.

Best part was they started this on many roads around town literally the week after thanksgiving. Total cluster for the worst traffic month of the year.

How about Verot School Road with a mini Grand Canyon on either side for what must be over a year now. I've seen at least 5 vehicles over the edge or flipped. Has to be against some kind of public safety law.

Nobody ever seems to be working on it either. Expected completion of the widening project is 2018. fricking clownshow

THIS!!!!! x1000000

I mean WTF!? They trenched out Grand Canyons on both sides of Verot then haven't did shite for the past year, just left it like that. I haven't even seen anyone working on it in what seems like forever! What a fricken clusterfrick!

Then they just bust up the roads on Ambassador extension and leave it like that. Why don't they finish a frickin project BEFORE starting a new one!!!!!

I live off of camellia and can't figure it out for the life of me. I usually leave before they start but it's a huge pain in the afternoon.

Because they go with the lowest bidder that doesn't have the size and manpower to do jobs piecemeal. And that's how a lot of the parishes pay for roadwork too. In stages. Rather than, do the job and you'll get paid.

Same thing going on in Baton Rouge metro area too.

What thermal said.

Previous city parish admin pressured the road contractor to complete the project during their term.

So they cut corners, ignored engineering, and rushed the process - ---knowing full well that the new road would start buckling. It was just a matter of time.
