I have a GSP. Smart dog, but stubborn as hell.

I love the beards on these things. Here is a draathar (sp?) which is basically the same dog with a different hunting pedigree.

i have one. Best dog ive ever owned.

High energy. We dont hunt with him but he has a huge yard to run it, and loves to swim in the pool.

Can't help with breeders in the area. We adopted him from a family in St Louis.

Shedding wasn't bad that I recall. (The kids now have cocker spaniel mix that sheds like a booger.)

I understand completely. I'm trying to start a new business right now so time is limited for me as well.

I think they have a core group of people, but I know one of the founders of that club recently passed. Not sure how that has shaken up the club ..

Hey wick, is there a certain name for the dark gray color with the brown head and or spot(s)? That's the color I'm looking for.

I have a GSP and if the GWP is anything like it, it sounds perfect for you. Mine has an endless amount of energy.

I take mine to the farm with me every day. Sometimes I'm just too busy to spend time with him, so I have to keep him in the pen. It's a decent sized pen, maybe 300 sq ft, but he still gets couped up. When I have time, he loves it when I let him out in a field and he just gets to run some energy out.

He is very loyal too. If I don't give him a bone or something to chew on he always wants to be right beside me when we're in the house.
