I know most people on here probably voted in a "normal" location such as a school, post office, or city hall. I was watching the news in Houston and there was a polling location that was in someone's garage. Saw online in California they had a polling location in a Bob's Big Boy, Roller Rink in Phili, and a Social Club in Phili as well.

Anyone vote in an odd place?

When I lived in Ascension, our polling place was at Leblanc Nissan on Airline Highway for one election.

First time I voted in Louisiana I voted in someone's garage.

Otherwise it's always been traditional locations like a school or courthouse. My high school was a polling place so we closed on Election Day.

A Fiesta Grocery store is the strangest I've ever voted in. We were all lined up down some kind of international spices aisle waiting to vote.

Not strange location but first time voting in FL. They have about 20 little "stations", tiny shoulder high cubicles if you will. They hand you a PAPER ballot, that you bubble in w a pen, like a fkn SCANTRON, then walk over and feed it into a machine!!! Am I in 4th grade? I know this is better than "chads" but I was so used to the booth and lever system, I was shocked. Seemed so manual.

I was just thinking about that while seeing pictures from around the country of people voting by filling out slips of paper. As backwards as everyone says Louisiana is, at least we use electronic voting machines which seem to be part of the 21st century. I've been voting since 1988 and I don't think I've ever been in a voting booth where you didn't pull a lever or push a button to vote for your candidates.

But then again, maybe the electronic voting machines are more prone to error than paper voting.

That's the way I always vote here in Dallas. Always get nervous if I go outside the bubble.

Well, I think the lever machines are real old school.

And I was trying to make perfect bubbles! If I dont fill it in enough, or too much, does my vote count?!
