Have you not noticed all the landscape services or are you just going with ole timer rhetoric?

Huge marketing error, IMO.

They clearly need your input.

You're the "King of New Orleans" and you want to start cutting grass?

SOP on the commercial side.

Too sketchy on the residential side.

No doubt that's the way to go. I wanted to continue cutting through college and then expand big time once I graduated but it's hard to compete with cheap arse companies and people who don't care about the service they get.

The people making money in the lawn business are the owners of big landscaping services. They probably don't do any manual labor and have their mostly Hispanic employees do the work while they make the $$$. A dude with a single trailer set up is not making $100,000. Besides at least in Houston some of these Hispanic lawn crews are working at 7 am and still going at 7 pm.

Sure they can. I helped the owner in my college years. Just the two of us. Get a couple commercial contracts and plenty of residential in one area and it is easy. He cleared 100k on a bad year and this was the early 2000s

People think these guys are out there cutting lawns for $15 and a pat on the back or something.

Seriously. One contract was 1500/month and another for 2700/month. Those two took up 1 whole day each week in the summer and 2 hours in the winter. Knock out 12-15 yards in one neighborhood for $40 a piece in one day and you are on your way to a nice year.

It was hard work and yes, on good days you work 7am-8pm 6 days a week. But for a college kid back then, making $12/hr cash, it was great

You have no idea what some of those self owned services make. Continue to be ignorant.
