Anyone have kids who went back to school today?

I see some people on facebook have kids that went back to school today. They aren't in Louisiana, but it seems early to me. Kids don't get a summer anymore.

The Northshore is going back Friday. Public school side, at least.

My kids go back on Thursday. They've cut the summer vacation back a lot but they get like two or three "fall breaks" that are supposed to make up for it. Everyone I've talked to say they'd rather just keep the summer like it use to be.

My fiancee grew up in Michigan. It's state law up there that school can not start before labor day.

The two month school break in Louisiana should be September/October or May/June. This break from June through mid-August is bullshite with this heat.

They can take a break to get water and go to the bathroom.
When they learn three languages fluently, can do trig in their sleep, and beat an Asian at chess, they get a permission slip to go to P.E.
