I have a Ring. Works fine, but you should know that you may have to replace the transformer that your existing doorbell connects to (if you have one) in order for it to get enough power. Otherwise, it can run off of battery power for a while. Also, if you want to be able to go back and look at recorded video, you have to subscribe to their cloud storage service. No local storage.

We have one. It works, though there's a bit of a delay.

It mainly confirmed how little we get unexpected people at the door. I mainly use it to scare the shite out of my wife when she is going through the door and I'm at work.

What's to keep a thief from just removing this doorbell stealing it?

I think the guard shack and roving security teams are good enough to keep trespassers off my property but I may get one as a supplement to make sure my house servants aren't letting anyone unwanted in.

We have one and really like it. We got the ring for $150. Friend of ours had someone come to their back door and they ran them off. The criminals have since been arrested because of pic from camera.

You have to have a special screw driver to take it down. I guess they could smash it. Nothing can really stop them if they want it.

I have a few ring products now. Got lucky and got some stuff free from them for getting others to get the ring pro doorbell and being in their beta program. I have the pro doorbell, it's great. The floodlights are crazy bright and pretty awesome. I'm not as big of a fan of the stick up cam. I got a chime too that I put in the basement to send me certain alerts from a few of the other cameras/doorbell.

Someone had a stick up cam inside their house and a doorbell that caught a thief in Chattanooga that made the news.

I'm still playing around with PoE cams, but honestly I like my Ring stuff better.

You can get a non pro version at Walmart in store on clearance. Got one for $50 a couple of weeks ago. Scattered stock around here. Ours works well. Better motion sensing would be a big plus. Ours picks up a lot of cars. Luckily we are in a cul du sac and don't see much traffic.

Did you adjust your motion zones to exclude the street? I don't let mine sense outside my yard.

It's really good for old people who don't want to fool with a complicated security system.

A buddy's elderly mom who now lives alone since her husband died, has one and it alerts all 3 of her sons(none of whom live in state). A few weekends ago a young guy rang her doorbell about 10:30pm at night trying to get her to open the door by saying he needed her to come out & move her car, which was in her driveway btw. Her son in Phoenix responded to get the frick out of there & he called the cops. Turns out he was living with his parents a few houses down and had several attachments. Cops arrested him in the driveway.

Yep, tied to the security system. Works well, motion activated, literally if a car drives by it will record it. Also connected via an app on the phone. Ring the door bell and I get an alert and can talk through the camera. Can also take a picture if I need to. I like it.
