We used to use Camp Bow Wow for our dog and she always loved it. They are not put in a kennel but instead in quite a nice size "cabin" as they call it. Plenty of room and they get to play with the other dogs all day.

Unfortunately on her last trip there she got quite ill and they tried calling us but we were on a cruise and had no service. Instead of calling our emergency contact or contacting her vet they just kept her there. We picked her up and had to rush her to the vet immediately and she nearly died. She was diagnosed with Addison's disease and while it wasn't BowWow's fault, they didn't handle her illness well. We are going to try boarding her next time at Kleinpeter since it is attached to an Animal Hospital.

I still recommend BowWow to anyone who has a young healthy dog. Just make it very clear that if you are unable to be reached that they need to take action. Most people can still be contacted when they are out of town so I doubt that situation arises too often. And if possible avoid busy times, they just pack in way too many dogs during Christmas and other major holidays.

I've used this service, sand really liked it. It's like an air bnb for dogs. People set a price per day, and you decide who you want to watch your dog.

Were you told at the time of injury how it happened?

We've used the Lafayette location a lot for day camp. We absolutely love the staff there. We also used their trainer Ali for in home sessions and thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Haven't needed to use the sitting service though. I would if I needed to though. The people who work there are trustworthy and absolutely love dogs. I can only speak to the Lafayette one though, never used any other location.

I wasn't told and maybe they weren't aware.. When he hopped up in truck and sat down he yelped.. Noticed he wouldn't sit the whole night. Took him to vet next morning and did X-rays. Broken tail

Vet didn't know how it could happen. Guessed a door caught him or someone hit him. His tail is only about an inch long to begin with.

They said they went back and watched video of the day and didn't see anythjng

These types of services are much better than keeping your dog locked up in a small kennel for two weeks. We use Doggie Play Camp (225-354-9151) off Sherwood/I-12. The owner John is great and put pics on Facebook daily (I don't care but my wife and kids like that). More importantly, our dog LOVES to go there.

welcome to the site, John
