Anyone ever had Shingles?

Saturday night I woke up with a horrible bout of itching right in the center of my chest. I scratched the hell out of it and went to bed. The area was a little red the next couple of mornings but I assumed I just scratched it too much. Then yesterday morning there is a definite rash that is reddish/pink and raised. Go back to Monday and I had a spot on my back that was itching a little that I couldn’t quite reach. Nothing severe and wouldn’t have thought anything of it until my spouse noticed a splotch on my back. Looks similar to the one on my chest just smaller. Both are itchy/sensitive with the one on my back being the worst but neither are causing severe pain. Neither came with any warning signs except the one time itching. Does this sound like Shingles? I did have chicken pox as a kid.

Shingles usually have blisters on the irritated areas.
This must be the AIDS.

It could be, but that’s rather atypical presentation.
Typically it’s a single stripe on the side of your torso.
Be advised that if it is shingles, you are infectious (For chicken pox).

Yes and it fricking sucked. I waited too long to get it treated b/c it started under my armpit and I initially thought it was a rash caused by switching deodorants. Go get that shite checked out ASAP b/c if you don't it will be super painful.

Yes, had it a few years ago. Woke up after going out the night before with a bunch of what looked like blisters in a row near my beltline. Called mom and she said go to the doctor, forget what the medication was

My wife had it. Her symptoms included blisters and shooting/stabbing pains.

It's not AIDS, you idiots.
It's coronavirus. Enjoy your quarantine

Better get it checked out quick.
This presents as Necrotizing fasciitis.

Couple things. Shingles is just simply dormant chicken pox. So if you’ve had CP you can have Shingles.
Secondly, it’s an inflammation originating from your spinal cord. That’s why presentation is usually a quarter of your body, right side of upper body, left side of upper body, etc.
Symptoms vary greatly from case to case. As another poster said, get to the doctor ASAP. If it’s shingles you’re going to want to get a steroid epidural ASAP. Once it gets bad, there’s not much to prevent symptoms. Mine lasted about three weeks and the worst for me was not being able to sleep at all because I couldn’t get comfortable. Anything touching it was irritating whether clothes or fricking AIR. Good luck.

Yea. Under my right eye and corner of my nose. I was surprised by the diagnosis because I've heard the horror stories and my case didn't hurt at all.

Doesn't sound like a normal presentation. Not saying it isn't, but it doesn't sound like it. Sounds more like some sort of contact dermatitis. Or the Coronavirus.
