I was supposed to be going to Nashville out of LAX. Instead of being emailed about my flight cancellation, I get told at the checking counter. Now I am on standby, and going to be traveling for AT LEAST the next 24 hrs.

I've been flying almost exclusively United the last two months and have only had one issue. Almost went with southwest today and now I'm glad I didn't after this thread.

Flight to MSY got cancelled today. On standby for flight later tonight. They originally told me tomorrow morning.

I was under the impression that the computer issues had been fixed, but I didn't realize they were still having waterfall issues.

Me neither, or I would have flown home last night.

Why all the cancellations? Are their fuselages cracking apart again?

Some sort of system glitch on Wednesday. Not sure how that still affects whole flights today though.

Why wouldn't you check before getting there?

Hell, Google now does it for me

I did. Like I said... INSTEAD of emailing me the cancellation, which is a service I signed up to receive, I found out at the gate. Never had this issue before, and was under the impression this was fixed.

I just flew Southwest twice in June
Computer issues backed everything up, that sucks.
Especially since right now is a busy time at airports without any real weather delays.

I got extremely lucky I almost pushed my flight back one day while visiting family. But didn't want to pay 200 bucks. Already had flights canceled because of weather a few days before glad it didn't happen again.

Nice try, e-badass. I grew up in Louisiana and Texas.

So you didn't check beforehand? Or it was cancelled between the time you left your hotel/work and the airport?

And I'm not blaming you for the issue. But I used to have to travel too much work for work, and always specifically checked the flight statuses
