The deliberate mechanical act of placing a phone call.

I miss these. Not the phone itself, but instead because of the simpler times it represented. I was in college at the time and this stayed under my truck seat and I think it was a 10 minute per month plan.

My grandma does.
She also died ten years ago.
What about the Tone/pulse transition phones. They looked like a touchtone but you'd hear a numbered pulse after every button pressed. Nobody misses those. They suck.
Back several years ago, I got a really cool rotary phone at a garage sale and thought it'd be cool to use it. While I liked the weight of it and the nostalgia, too many phone functions rely on key entry. So it got old having to hang up and call back on my cell.

I wouldn't have thought of this....I could see where it would be a pain in the arse. I guess progress happens and we don't even realize it.

This was my first cell phone... and I thought I had the best shite ever..
It was 50 bucks a month for 100 minutes... back in the early 90's... No texting or internet, just a phone...
Man conserving phone minutes really sucked...

Let your fingers do the walking.

Remember also when it was a status symbol to have that little antenna on the back glass of your car, because it meant you had a mobile phone.

You can still have one and get back to the OG 3 watts transmit and receive signal with a booster

Remember the scumbags that actually put fake gold ones on their cars...

Me too, that's why I went and ordered one off of ebay to use. Had to get a converter box to transform the tone so dialed numbers would go through.

I miss the deliberate mechanical act of slamming the phone down when hanging up on someone who pissed me off.

I saw one this past weekend at a retro store. It was one of the yellow ones that hangs on the wall. I wanted to buy it but the price was stupid
