Shouldn't be hard to find a place for a water delivery.

I think they will cancel flights in and out of Houston Sunday through Tuesday. No special knowledge, just a gut feeling.

I'm supposed to connect through IAH Monday, pretty much giving up on that

Good luck with that. When Hurricane Ivan was expected to hit Louisiana, I was 37 weeks pregnant & my OB canceled my appointment for a check-up. Thankfully Ivan ended up being a non-event for us because the baby arrived the next day (the storm moved east towards Alabama).

The thought of evacuating and possibly being stuck in traffic and then going into labor is scary too though. I hope everything goes well for you and your family.

More details on booze needed before a formal offer can be issued.

I'll be in the Woodlands/Spring area - we have booze, a ping pong table, and movies for the kids. I expect a drunken weekend with lots of rains and Monday-Tuesday off of work due to flooding elsewhere in Houston that doesn't impact us at all.

I'm at 17th and Sheppard and we have never flooded. My house is also built 3 feet off the ground. But it's never even reached in my garage which is on a slab.

Same here. I'm down by Heights and White Oak. Curious where that guy's friend lives for him to get flooded out in the Heights. I know there was some flooding previously around Yale and 14th, but that was just shitty NOLA style drainage. The rest of the Heights was high and dry.

We are in Webster. Not much history of flooding in my neighborhood. We are staying unless things do get bad, but not planning to leave. Got plenty of friends and family around and they are staying too.

I only grabbed enough booze to make it through Sunday though. But I was planning another trip out tomorrow anyways.

I'm staying here. I drove to dallas when Rita hit. 12 hours of pure hell. My house didn't flood and they didn't really lose electricity. I'm staying put.

We stayed for Ike and left when it was over and we were out of power. Went spend a week in Austin drinking with Uncle Stu and Rummel until our power was back on

My brother been in houston all week, but I think he is wrapping it up and heading back this was after lunch. I wouldn't want to be in that shite show this coming week.

I don't feel the CC folks know what is about to demolish them, and SA and HOU will end up having to clean up the mess while dealing with their own localized flooding. frick that.

I just tried to convince my sister and mom to let's take a vacation to Destin. Haha.

I live in east downtown on the 4th floor but I'm going to stay at my sister's house in spring branch. It doesn't flood at either place.

Losing electricity is the biggest concern. Houston does a really good job with disasters so I think we should be ok for a bit.
I was supposed to be in dallas for work on Monday and have a room there. If it gets really bad, might drive there but I don't think so.

I know in Nola, my apts in the CBD always had power longer and back on quicker than almost anyone else in the city.... something to think about.

That's what I was thinking too. I can't convince my sister to come over though. 1 bedroom with 6-7 people might be rough.

I'm still hoping for the LSU game to go on Saturday ??.

Haha! I'm on the way! Let's go!

Yeah the only worry I have is no electricity. We have enough food, water, and alcohol.
