Anyone else in Houston debating on what to do?

I guess I'm going to leave tonight and go stay with my cousins in Dallas. I don't want to be stuck in house with no AC for two days if it comes to that.
But part of me looking at the track right now thinks this might not impact us that badly.

Would you rather be in dallas and see that no damage happened or be at home with water in your house, no A.C., etc?

I am supposed to drive to b.r. at some point and come back Sunday. Waiting to see if it still stalls west of here to make my decision.

Probably the first time I've ever agreed with TH03, but this is spot on how I would look at it.

I've been on the phone with my brother telling him to leave. Go to Dallas

You can't just look at where it is coming in. You need to see if/when it heads east. It's going to be shitty regardless probably until Wednesday so if you can hang in Dallas you might as well.

I'm swinging by Specs and HEB to load up on booze and food then hunkering down. Probably hosting a hurricane gathering at my apartment Saturday night.

Where do you live in Houston? Did you flood on Memorial day 2 years ago? Are you in an area that experiences alot of flooding (Montrose, Bellaire, West U, up and down 290, Meyerland, etc...). If so, leave. I would consider leaving if I lived anywhere inside the loop (maybe sans River Oaks).
I think most of us out in the burbs are fine, but I'm worried about friends in town.

the problem in these situations is you end up driving out of town you end up stuck bc you're fleeing with all the others and there's a shite ton of idiots who are low on gas or have crappy cars and their cars break down on the highway and you're there for hours.
Just hunker down, make sure you have water and snacks and ride it out.

I live in the Heights and we've had zero flooding on our street in the past four years. I don't want be stuck without power. Went through that to many times as a kid in LA. I like AC.

West U the streets flood bad, but never the houses. I've lived there 36 years and never once have the homes flooded. The streets though, thats just ridiculous how terrible they get. Most of the homes are pretty elevated except those old 1 story homes.
