Saturday was awful. I made a thread on Music board about it though.

I don't get your complaint?
The word "stupid" in your comment, is a predicate adjective, not a noun.
Also, when you used "more" it's an adjective. It's never a noun. Your two attempts at putting articles in front of what you think are nouns were just dumb.

Yes Saturday was insane, thanks to Elton John and Jerry Lee Lewis. I didn't plan on seeing either one.

well you had a stacked day and perfect weather, shouldn't be too surprising the turnout was huge

No shite.
I'm going to have fun anyway, but they had a few crowd flow choke points that were to the point of not being safe. Usually with rare exemptions, the outside dirt track is an easy way to get around the fest. By 2:00 they had people sitting in chairs almost back to the port-o-lets and fence near Acura. You had people trying to come from both ways and into the event from a back gate in one area. And this was right at the intersection of a cross-over to get back to the main area.

I could sit out by Liuzzas and drink bloody marys for hours talking to people before and after the fest. Love the whole vibe and spirit of the festival.

You still run into a few dumbasses who will say that jazz fest is full of dirty hippies so they don't go.
And then there was the mentally challenged guy I overheard last week say he didn't go to jazz fest because the music was nothing special. He said once you've heard one brass band, you've heard them all.

I've had some epic times there in the past but also had times where the crowds and conditions were horrible. I love live music but hate crowds, long lines, etc.

Can't say I've ever had a bad experience but the crowd the year Lenny Kravitz played the Acura stage was too much. The crowd was past the port-o-pots.

I enjoy the fest itself but I refuse to stick around for the headliners. Locals Thursday and the seocnd Friday are usually my two favorite days.

This last Saturday was too damn crowded and I left about 5:15

I don't think Jerry Lee Lewis had as much to do with it as Ed Sheeran and TI.

You had three of the biggest entertainers across three different genres all playing at the same time.

There are tons of smoking hot chicks not even wearing bras. Even my ugly arse got some digits while eating crawfish Monica.

I do hate that fricking hippie perfume that some of them wear though. It's like nobody ever told them it smells horrible

The pathway at the Gentilly Stage by the time Marc Broussard had started was crazy. Chris Stapleton wasn't too bad so then we walked over to see Soul Rebels and by the time we made it back to our chairs the pathway was almost completely blocked.

wow. that sucks bro. I think Saturday was the perfect storm for a cluster frick. Like you said A-List performers playing at the same time combined with the fact the weather was so crappy the weekend before everybody wanted to go Saturday. Like someone else said, it might be time to move it to City Park. There is simply not enough space at the Fairgrounds. one thing I like about ACL here in Austin, there is plenty of space at Zilker and much more space than the Fairgrounds. Well they also have a hard limit on the number of wristbands sold.

I wonder if there is something they can do with City Park to convert some of that to some type of festival grounds. The Fairgrounds are only so big.

I just hate crowds and heat, especially together. Not bashing the music, just cant enjoy the environment.

So is there really a need to make a thread saying how much you hate Jazz Fest specifically? Why not just make a thread that says "Anyone else hate heat and crowds?"

Honestly...I didn't really mind.

When I go, I get there early, walk around and eat till about noon then see performers till like 3 pm.

At that time I usually try and move to the track near an exit by a stage who has someone I want to see. Then, I just set up there until it gets too crowded then I can make a quick exit when I want to.

I used to enjoy Jazz Fest. Music, food, booze. The last time I went the crowd was unbearable and was nothing compared to this Saturday's crowd that I saw. I'm not saying I would never go back, but it would have to be on one of the weekdays. The weekend is too packed to be fun for me anymore.
