Some people theorize that back pain is mostly mental, they say your back will hurt to keep you from feeling all of the mental pain you are in. With what you have gone thru lately I could see that playing a big part in your pain. You should look into Dr. Sarnos books. I don't know if they work or not but Howard Stern and a lot of other people swear by them and with what you have been thru I could see how MAYBE some of your back pain could be due to mental pain. Just something to think about and look into!

Common with disc issues. Don't stress so much you give yourself a peptic ulcer. Lots of options may work.

Sucks with that..

My lower back tightened up when I was benching 275 2 weeks ago.

No problems since after 285x3 yesterday.

Then why would it not manifest itself until after someone slammed into me at 60mph?

Bone and Joint is a good ortho clinic. McCarthy has a middle of the road rep. Not best for sure, but not bad. I'm shocked he's thrown out surgery as an option with only bulging disc diagnosis.

Because you may have needed an excuse. I am just saying, it makes sense whenI read the basics and heard people talk about it so its probably worth looking into.

There is some research out there that does talk about how fear and avoidance contributes to pain.

You aren't a head case. If what you say is true then your pain is warranted.

I had the exact same thing. The pain in my tricep and forearm would bring me to my knees. The meds would do nothing. Flexoril would help me sleep at night.

I finally went and had 2 epidurals about 3 weeks apart and now the pain is 75% gone but the numbness and weekness in my hand/fingers is still there. I'm prob gonna go have another epidural in another week

If I had a choice, I'd go with BR Ortho on Bluebonnet.

Get someone from Bankston's group. Who is the back guy there?

I've only dealt with Winder and one of their hand specialists, Robichaux.

I don't think it has anything to do with being a head case. I mean, if I had gone thru what he has in the last year I am sure my brain would be doing anything and everything it could to distract itself.

Been there.
Bone spurs-twice. Physical therapy. Continue and don't give it up. No more pain/numbness.

Ruptured disc-get surgery now. That shite does not go back into your spine by itself. Had it 15 years ago and have had ZERO issues with my neck since then.

Good luck and prayers.

I believe I have a herniated disc (webmd the symptoms) I have a doc appointment friday to get xrays done to confirm. I first hurt it a few months ago doing deadlift. Then I reinjured it pulling on a deer on Christmas day.

I was just about to get my nose above water when this wreck happened.
I'd rather be back at a job I hated making money than laid up and not able to do anything without feeling like tiny elves were mining for gold in my spine.
