Anyone else deal with the madness of flying through Dallas today?

I flew into Dallas from Maui at 8:30 AM. Supposed to fly to St. Louis at 10:45 AM but flight was cancelled and we were then put on a flight at 4:15. Then they proceeded to stretch the flight time continuously. They seemed to push it back a half hour, every hour, before canceling all three flights for the day to STL at around 9. There was one more going at 11:20 but instead of being on standby with 50 people hoping for an unlikely spot in a flight that might not happen, we're now in a car driving ten more hours (no flights again until Tuesday).

I don't travel often, but it seemed far from the usual poor timing for travel. I spoke to many people going many different places and they all experienced similar. One couple going to Salt Lake City had been stranded for 36 hours and counting. It was horrible

Flew into Love in the Gulfstream to swap out ski clothes for beach clothes. Crew had time to refuel/refit and then we were off again. No issues.

Typically when a place has really bad weather there are lots of delays at the local airport...

Obviously. I expected that to happen. But people being in an airport for days waiting on flights seemed like something abnormal. But again, I don't travel often so I have no frame of reference. If it's nothing out of the ordinary, this thread can just be deleted. No biggie

Did you fly American Airlines? I got a friend on Facebook who has been complaining all day about being in Dallas but he's blaming it on American Airlines

People like to exaggerate their delays when it comes to air travel. Major weather delays during heavy travel times will lead to longer than normal delays for passengers, however.

I'm not looking forward to the clusterfrick that wednesday is going to bring trying to get back down there. I've gotta fly through charlotte and my friend's going through ATL, chance of t-storms 100%. I may try to fly through dallas instead, think it should be cleared out by then

Multiple tornadoes in the area will sometimes make those airline pussies scared to fly.
