Pretty sure Noriega is why a lot of older Panamanians still hate us

I wouldn't be too jelly. He was getting shot at in Vietnam
Cuba was working the prison camp there back in 1995. Got hit by a hurricane that flooded the area. However, he did see Gloria Estefan live in concert in Cuba!
As for Noriega, he said there was a little dust up at the base club involving some Noriega goons. I'm sure he paints himself a regular Jean Claude in the story.

I'll be there for 3 days in May of this year. Anybody here on the OT been or have any advice for some must-see/must-do types of things?
The Panama Canal seems like the obvious thing to do, but I have read the city has quite a lot to offer besides that.
Spent a week down there a few years ago on business. Went a couple days early so I could take in the sights. We hired a local guide to take us around. I highly recommend you do the same. We spent a day with him seeing the city, canal, and even out in to surrounding countryside. Another benefit of having a local guide is he knows what areas you don't need to go to.

Between 1996 and 1999, I would go to Panama about 3 or 4 times a year. I am sure a lot has changed since the United States has turned the Canal Zone back to Panama.
My recommendation:
Martín Fierro Argentinian Steak House
This is quiet possibly the best steak I have ever had, sans grilling the steak myself.
