Have a buddy who does this.

On the other end of the spectrum have another buddy who doesnt cut it up at all. Just grabs the whole damn steak with a fork and takes bites.

Yes ive told them they are both trashy, they dont care.

At least they dont put ketchup on it.

No, seems like a good way to finish the steak with some cold pieces.

Seems like something a little kid would do. Tell your friend to stop doing it.

Your steak shouldn't dry out from cutting into it.

That lets all the juice escape from a good searing and it makes the last few bites cold.

Seems like a misteak.

I went on a couple of dates with this chick in college and then she invited me to dinner with her parents.

She ordered a steak and made her mom cut the entire steak up for her like a 7 year old would do.

I ghosted her after that night.

seems like it would dry out and get cold if you cut it all up first

I don't even do that to my pancakes. Only a psychopath would do it to a steak.

It ruins the steak by releasing the juice before you bite into it.

It also should never be cut into while cooking it. You should flip one time using a pair of tongs which don't puncture it. Allow it to sit for a short time afterbyoubtakevit off the grill. It continues to cook for about two minutes. So allow for that cooking time.

You should cut it into large pieces (in half, thirds, quarters, etc...depending on its size) so that the meat does not continue cooking. Nothing worse than ordering/cooking a medium-rare steak, only to have a medium-well steak by the time I eat it.
