San Pedro is pretty similar to a Destin, much prefer Caye Caulker personally(but it's much more of a backpacking scene.)
San Ignacio is awesome if you want to venture mainland. Some really cool ruin/hiking opportunities. ATM Cave is one of the coolest things I've ever done. Companies will bring you from San Pedro as well.
San Ignacio is like a 60 dollar taxi(2 hr drive) from Belize City if I'm remembering right. Can also take the local bus for cheap but it's a shitshow. Belize City is a complete shithole.
