Will they prescribe it for fear of flying?

Have a few drinks and you'll be fine. If on a longer flight, have a few drinks before boarding, then order one during the flight. Just don't turn into a crazy person, because they'll land somewhere other than where you're going and you'll be detained.

Absolutely. I have one just for flying.
Although, I like adavan (sp?) better. I need to get my prescription changed to that.

Do not jerk it in the lavatory. You'll catch a cramp and then you'll have a fear of flying and a fear of confined spaces.

Red River Dave - "Amelia Earhart's Last Flight" (1941)
A ship out on the ocean, just a speck against the sky
Amelia Earhart flying that sad day
With her partner, Captain Noonan, on the second of July
Her plane fell in the ocean far away
There's a beautiful, beautiful field
Far away in a land that is fair
Happy landings to you, Amelia Earhart
Farewell, first lady of the air
Half an hour later her SOS was heard
Her signals weak but still her voice was brave
In shark-infested waters her plane went down that night
In the blue Pacific to a watery grave
There's a beautiful, beautiful field
Far away in a land that is fair
Happy landings to you, Amelia Earhart
Farewell, first lady of the air
Now you heard my story 'bout this awful tragedy
We all pray she'll fly home safe again
In years to come, though others blaze a trail across the sea
Well ne'er forget Amelia and her plane
There's a beautiful, beautiful field
Far away in a land that is fair
Happy landings to you, Amelia Earhart
Farewell, first lady of the air
A ship out on the ocean, just a speck against the sky
Amelia Earhart flying that sad day

With whom are you flying? Many major airlines have programs (a class, reading material, a hot line to speak with someone) to help those with this problem.
You might need to make a few phone calls to finally get someone from the airline that knows what they're talking about, but they're usually more than happy to help.
Best of luck.
Pro tip- if it is a longish flight, and you can stand the up-charge, then you might find it worth it to fly business/first. Earlier boarding, better customer service, less hassles with luggage, and the way the flight crew treats you in first is a totally different world than coach/economy.

Good bud. If you're a smoker then you know how much you need. If not, two good hits and a double shot of vodka or whiskey.
