Looking at:
- Manchac/Ruddock, but haven’t heard about fishing there’s since Ida.
- Blind River between Blood River and Maurepas.
- Bayou Sorrel (where I grew up fishing) but haven’t been in years.

I’d love to put some fish in the boat…any thoughts?

TIA

Water. Either fresh or salt. Maybe brackish.

I live near there and unless you want a few tiny brim the pickings are slim.

Ruddock been rough.
There are some fish, but IDA tore up the place.
Been trying to dial them in.
Use to be consistent on at least catching a few fish even during a heavy East wind.
Now I am trying to dial it in as the fish kill did hurt the area.

Pretty simple.
Deep channel about 25 ft.
Morning find clear water before 9 am and you could always scrape some bass off topwater.
Then they drop back off the bank into the drop off around 10ft to 16ft.
Winter seen them get down to 25ft.
Use to have it down by looking at the gauge at Pass Manchac.
It been slim since the storm for me.

Good
- water hyacinth are gone.

bad
- there are bass and Scaliat there just not as many
- alot of gar
- choupic
- catfish

Reminder
As of June 1, 2022 you have to have a wildlife mgmt pass which is $20 a year or $5 a day to fish it which most of it on a Wildlife mgmt area.

Thanks for the info. I assumed Ida wrecked things, but I love that water.

And didn’t know about the extra fees…that’s junk!

Thanks for the info. We fished the gills off Pat Bay and the well heads back in the day.

I’m in a 16’ Cajun classic…not too keen on open water like that. Manchac Pass is pushing it.
