Found a dog who was in bad shape. Fleas, intestinal worms, and 15lbs underweight. Got the first two under control, but now I have him starting preliminary treatment to cure his heart worms.

Need help naming this guy. I don't want some generic name or typical Louisiana name. Just something interesting and different.

Let me what y'all got.

He's a pitbull. Probably 38lbs right now and should be closer to 55lbs

Phoenix, or Bennu.

quote:

Some of the titles of the Bennu bird were "He Who Came Into Being by Himself",[1] and "Lord of Jubilees"; the latter epithet referred to the belief that the Bennu periodically renewed itself like the sun.[2] Its name is related to the Egyptian verb wbn, meaning "to rise in brilliance" or "to shine".[1]

Yes, I know he's not a bird, but he's kind of being reborn into a new dog, get it?

ETA: Oh, a pitbull. How nice. In that case, Fluffy.

ETA2: Or Good Dog, as in "He was a Good Dog, never hurt nobody before this."

Another reason to name him Butters?

Chicks will think it's an adorable name.
"Awww his name is Butters?! That is too cute!!" (As chick leans over to pet Butters giving you a nice view)

Sweet looking pup. Good on you for giving him a second chance.

FYI: Chance would be a good throwback name to Homeward Bound. Anyone who didn't cry when Shadow got stuck in the mud hole doesn't have a soul.
