quote:

Family identified the man who was killed Thursday night while leaving a corner store on East Polk Street and Thomas H Delpit as 37-year-old Donald Wayne "DW" Ely.

Ely had left Thomas Grocery and was walking to his white pickup truck around 8:30 p.m. when his cousin, Keisha Jackson, heard gunshots. She said she though the first shot was a balloon popping, but soon realized it was gunfire and that her cousin was on the ground shot so she quickly called police.

quote:

Jackson and Ely's older sister, Yashica Singleton, said they were told that another man was in the hospital after he was shot in the leg during the incident, but they did not know what happened.

quote:

Jackson and Singleton said Ely was the father of a young teenage boy who was on the honor roll at McKinley High School. They said they both admired Ely for the way he raised his son and kept him on a good path. Jackson added that Ely didn't bother anyone and was a good person.

Was he killed by the police?
Was he killed by whitey?

Then no one cares.

But they should, going to buy milk should not be cause to get shot.

Hopefully that community will say enough is enough

But that day isn't today, or tomorrow, or the next, and so on and so on...

The other sad part is there are some thugs laughing at the sound he made when hit, the expression on his face and the thud when the body hit the ground.

Yeah, lack of economic opportunities and the police caused this to happen.

Why is the majority of the crime and murder isolated to one major area in BTR??

We never here in the news of a "man shot at corner of white oak and Hagerstown" or "woman carjacked at gunpoint near CCL and Highland"

hmmmm
